Sometime ago, a friend cautioned me to be sure and put on the armor of God daily. I made no comment, but I did think, ‘I never take it off,’ so I disregarded what she said.

Recently it came to me, ‘No, I don’t take it off, but sometimes it needs straightening,’ as it can get crooked as the cares of life come along and batter us.

I have now made it a habit to make a declaration of the armor on a daily basis declaring aloud, “Thank you God for the armor You have provided as part of my spiritual protection. I declare that the belt of truth (word of God) is wrapped tightly around me and guides my behavior. I thank you for the breastplate of righteousness and know that it is only through Jesus I can be righteous. I thank you for the sandals of peace provided by Jesus, the Prince of Peace and for the helmet of salvation made possible by Jesus’ blood sacrifice. I lift up the shield of faith against the fiery darts of the enemy, Satan. I have in my hand the sword of the Spirit (the word of God). I realize all of this points to Jesus, the living word and to the written word of Scripture.”

I encourage you to refresh yourself in the mighty provision made possible by the armor and to be sure no part of it has slipped out of place.
