THOUGHT OF THE DAY
“Until the time that his word came to pass the word of the Lord tested him.”

Did you ever wait and wait for an answer to prayer as you claimed a promise out of Scripture? I certainly have, which is why I was glad to have this Scripture pointed out to me.
God had given Joseph dreams of promotion, when he was a lad. It certainly did not seem like promotion was in his life, when his brothers sold him and he ended up with his feet in fetters. The word of the Lord did test him.
I was very encouraged to find this verse as it sheds some light on the dilemma many of us face as we wait for the fulfillment of a promise from Scripture. We have the word, we quote it back to Him, we know His word will not return void, but the promise is still not fulfilled in the natural realm hence the term “the word of the Lord is tested.” This does encourage me as I attempt to stand in faith and wait. It further encourages me when I read the story of Joseph and his promotion in God’s time.
