We are beginning a new year and it is a great time to check our spiritual life.

The scripture I love as a check for my own life is Micah 6:8 “He has shown you, oh man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness and mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Amplified version).

We can agonize where to put our energies questioning ourselves when we see all the ministry possibilities. Others may call out for help and we can get into areas where we are not called and are not equipped. It is helpful to use the above scripture and prayer to determine where to put our energies.

In our lives outside of church, we can also check and ask ourselves, am I dealing justly with others, am I walking humbly with God, am I kind and merciful?

Our time on earth is too short to engage in activities that do not have our name on it and do not fit in God given talent and God’s purposes for our lives.

I want to do the good that has my name on it as I am sure you do too.
